In aid of children suffering from cancer and particularly leukaemia. The 5th edition of “ les Voiles De L'Espoir” will be a week of sailing and escape for more than 60 children in cancer remission. During 8 days 400 member of French RT and a few Ladies Circle will accompany the children aboard more than 30 sailing boats.
This break will enable them to rediscover the world and nature after spent in sterile hospital units. Doctors, nurses and psychologists have voluntarily joined the organization in order to reduce the inherent risks of illness and to ensure the smooth running of this incomparable week.
After the Cote d'Azur, the Golfe du Lion, Northerm Brittany and Normandy, it is Poitou Charente's turn to have the honour of hosting the event.
The 20th Round Table District of France, Centre Atlantic, federate all its Tablers, around this fantastic project. Entirely within the Round Table Sprit, mixing friendship, great parties every nights, and open minded to others needs, each local Table manage the organization of a party. The success of this adventure is certainly based on the motivation of a generous group of Tabler who handle the project, but also the support of Ladies Circle, Agora and club 41 and foreign Tablers who will joint the event.
In the face of illness, it became obvious for the Poitou Charente region, boasting a long maritime tradition, a unique coast line and an exceptional climate, to rally round in order to give children from all corners of France, Europe and more further and abroad the best it has to offer.
